You were sitting at home alone, as usual. You had popped a bowl of buttery popcorn and thrown in your DVD of ‘Wayne’s World.’ It was one of your favorites, and you hadn’t seen it in awhile. Besides, you weren’t one to go out on Saturday nights. You preferred staying home in your fortress of solitude, and you figured everyone else liked it that way, too.

As you threw some popcorn carelessly into your mouth, you cellphone rang. You paused your movie and checked the caller ID; it was Dave Strider. Of course, he was one of the only people who ever called you on a Saturday night. He always tried to get you to come to his wild parties, but you always turned him down.

You answered the phone. “Hello?”

“’Sup [Name]?”

“Oh, I’m just sitting here, comfortably watching a movie.” You hoped that telling him you were having a good time would make him forget about asking you to the party and hang up or something. However, that was not the case.

“Well, I called ‘cause we’re having a really cool party and I wondered if you wanted anybody to come pick you up.” You knew he was smirking when he talked. You could also tell that he was on the verge of being wasted. “This party’s off the hook.”

You rolled your eyes. “Dave, you call me at every party to invite me, and every time I say no. Why do you always call me again and again when you already know that I won’t want to go?”

“We’re playing ‘7 Minutes in Heaven’ and you could get your crush.” He said simply. You had never told him your crush, but he certainly knew you had one. You tried to make sure that no one knew who it was, and you guessed you were doing a pretty good job.

You sighed. “Oh fine, but only if you promise to not bug me about your stupid parties again.”

“Oh, you’ll be wantin’ to come back after dis one…” Dave slurred and hung up the phone.

John and Dave had both arrived at your house to pick you up for the party. John was driving, considering the fact that Dave had already drank over the limit. He wasn’t bad or anything, he was just a little… woozy. They had driven you back to the party and immediately after that, the game got started.

“Okay, everyone!” Dave called out to the party. “Put your items in the box and we’ll start our totally cool ‘7 Minutes in Heaven’ journey!” He held out a small cardboard box, just big enough for everyone to put their items in. Everyone bashed through the crowd to quickly be put in and then gather around the circle.

After everyone put in, Dave quickly held out the box towards you. “C’mon [Name], you know you wanna.~” He shook the box, letting all the contents jingle and jangle inside. You sighed and blindly picked something out of the basket.
