Chapter Four
===========
~
That’s when you felt it.
The first punch hitting your face, making your jaw crack and your mind go blank for a second.
When you came back, your face felt as if it were on fire.
The senior boy dropped you on the tiled floor, making your back sting in pain instantly. You wanted to try and fight back, but you couldn’t stand up. Your back hurt too much. You wanted to yell for help, but you couldn’t. You couldn’t even move your jaw.
The senior next to the one who dropped you put his foot on your chest, applying loads of pressure. This made you even more immobile then you already were. You attempted to push the boy’s foot off with your hands, but then the last senior grabbed your wrist and pulled.
Hard.
There was a loud crack and you squealed with pain, completely forgetting about your jaw. You held your jaw in place with your only usable hand and tried not to cry. Of course, you couldn’t stop yourself from crying. The pain was unbearable. You didn’t want to be the sissy in this situation but you were. Why couldn’t you’ve just stood up to these guys in the first place?!
Suddenly, one of the boys’ feet came down on your head, and everything went black.
~
You couldn’t open your eyes, but you could hear voices coming from somewhere… were you dead? You had no idea.
“Don’t mess with her wrist! It’s fucking broken!”
“I’m going to fucking break your face if you keep yelling at me, god.”
You felt something wet touch your face and you just barely opened your eyes. You could just see the shades of Dave Strider.
Your face turned a deep shade of [b/c].
“You’re awake,” Dave said with the slightest of smirks on his face. Karkat glared at him from behind, though Dave didn’t notice.
You use your hand that isn’t in total pain to hold your head. You groan, every feeling just flowing back to you. “Ugh, what happened?”
Karkat pushed Dave out of the way so he could explain to you. “You were being beat up by those nookstains of fucking senior boys and this lowlife stepped in and saved your ass.”
“Oh,” You slowly nodded, trying not to hurt yourself. “Well, thanks again. You’ve saved me a lot lately.”
“Yeah, not a problem.”
You and Dave stared at each other for a moment. You examine his face for a moment; his hair seems so… straight and soft. His shades, you decided, make him look adorable. You could even see the slightest tint of red on his cheeks.
Karkat cleared his throat, making you two jump. “Stop hitting on my sister, you asswipe.” He grumbled, balling his fists at Strider. The blonde simply shrugged.
“I should be going,” Dave nodded at you and headed for the door. Once he walked out, you couldn’t help but glare at Karkat.
“Why are you so mean to him?” You ask with an annoyed voice, “I mean, he saved me! You should be happy that I’m not dead, unless I’m just that horrible of a sister. Besides, you yelling at me is what got us into this mess in the first place. You made me cry and you haven’t even apologized!” Just talking about it made you liable to cry again. You sniffled loudly, hoping it would make Karkat feel bad. It did.
Karkat sighed, “Okay, [Name]… I’m sorry I made you fucking cry, but it’s not like I meant to! I’m your fucking brother and our lusus isn’t here, so whose going to protect you?!” You looked at Karkat sympatheiticly. Now you felt bad. You missed your mom, or lusus as Karkat called her, too.
You jumped up, regardless of all the pain you felt, and hugged your brother. He was surprised by your sudden outburst, but he hugged you back. The two of you embraced for awhile. You loved seeing your brother’s nice side, considering the fact you didn’t see it often.
For once, you felt like your family of two was actually happy together.
Keep up the good work!!
