The school day had finally ended and you were damn happy it was over! You just wanted to go home with Karkat and sit on your ass. You wanted to watch TV, or more specifically, [f/s]. You stood at the street corner where Karkat had said he’d meet you. As much as you wanted to be patient, you were thinking about slapping him when he got there! I mean, he was a minute late, then two minutes, then five minutes…
“Hey, look at what we’ve got here,” A voice spoke menacingly, “A freshman.”
You quickly turned around to see three very tall boys towering over you. You figured they were seniors or something, and they looked to be hungrily hunting for freshman. You were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“What should we do?” One of the boys asked, “Beat her up and hide her in the ally, or sit her out on display?”
“Hm, I’m not sure…” One of the others pondered and then looked at you, “What would you prefer, freshman?”
You blinked, not really sure if you should answer or not, but you decided to anyway, “I would prefer neither, thank you.” You turned to cross the street. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I should-“
One of the boys grabbed your shoulder. “You’re not going anywhere. You’re getting this beat down just like everyone else.” The boy raised his fist high in the air. You flinched, not ready for the impact of the blow.
Lucky for you, the impact never came.
You opened your eyes to see what was taking so long. You just wanted to get this beating over with! Your eyes widened when you saw that the senior boys were lying on the ground, bruised up and bleeding. Over them stood a boy with blonde hair and dark shades… he reminded you of the boy who was sitting with John at lunch.
“Um… what h-happened?” You managed to stammer.
The boy lifted up his head to look at you. “These guys were ready to give you the classic freshman beat down, so I gave them the classic senior beat down.” He had a slight smirk on his face when he spoke.
You scratched your head and glanced at your feet. You were kind of embarrassed that someone had to save you from some stupid teenage boys. “Well, thanks…”
“No problem, [Name].”
Your eyes widened. “How do you know my name?”
The boy shrugged, “John talks about sometimes. He said you’re his best girl friend, that homo. I’m his ‘best guy friend’, Dave.”
“Oh, well it’s nice to meet you Dave,” You couldn’t help but smile slightly at his cool appearance. You were surprised someone who looked at cool as him would try to help someone as uncool as you. It was probably John’s idea… you thought.
“Cool,” was Dave’s last word before he walked across the street and out of your view.
You looked at the three seniors on the floor and your brain nearly exploded. How in the hell did a boy in the same grade as her beat up three bulky seniors, especially when he was amazingly skinny? The question boggled your mind.
Suddenly, Karkat walked up to you. “Hey, sorry I’m late, I had to-“He looked down at the body pile. “What the fuck did you do?! I leave you alone for a few measly seconds, and-“
You put a finger to your lips, signaling him to shush. “It wasn’t me. These boys were about to murder me for the freshman beat down and a boy named Dave Strider beat them up.” You smiled at him. You didn’t really feel like yelling at him for being late at the moment.
Karkat blinked. “Dave Strider talked to you? He used his words and vocally spoke to you, and he even beat the assholes up who were trying to attack you? I will fucking kill him!”
“Wait, why would you kill him if he helped me?”
Your brother growled, “I told Dave to stay the fuck away from you, considering the fact that I didn’t want you anywhere near his ‘cool business.’”
You rolled your eyes. “Geez Karky, don’t get your bright red panties in a bunch.” You began to walk across the street towards your house.
“[Name], YOU BETTER TAKE THAT BACK YOU INGREATFUL LITTLE PARASITE OF A SISTER!” Karkat shouted as he ran after you.
