Eridan x Reader x Austria - The Art Of Piano [CH4]

Roderich smiled at you. “I showed you all the note earlier. Now, how we try a short song?”

You nodded, excited to learn your first song.

“How about Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?” He suggested.

Eridan let out a snort so loud, it nearly gave you and Roderich a heart attack.

“I’m sure she can learn somethin’ a lot better than a song about a dumb star!” Eridan said, emitting a few laughs. “How about ‘Ears Hang Low’? That’s easy, and at least it doesn’t suck.”

Roderich grimaced. “Excuse me, but who planned this lesson?”

“...You...” Eridan muttered.

“Exactly, so she’s learning Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”

You sat silently in between the two as they seemed to argue with their eyes. You felt kind of awkward... maybe it wasn’t the best idea to invite Eridan in on the lesson. Trying not to be too obvious, you cleared your throat.

Roderich jumped. “Oh, sorry [Name].” He put his fingers on the keys and fixed his posture. “Here’s how to play the song.”

You watched as Roderich played the song without a single flawl. It wasn’t much to gawk over - it was very simple - but it was pretty good, to you, at least. The way his fingers pranced on the keys like miniature dancers; it was a beautiful show. You wondered if you would ever be able to play as great as him.

“There,” Roderich said as he played the last few notes, “now you try.”

The pressure was on as you cautiously placed your fingers on the keys. You were a bit scared to play in front of Eridan and Roderich. What if you messed up? What if they didn’t think you were musically inclined like them? ...Then again, it was a lesson. It’s not like they expected you to be a teenage Beethoven.

You swallowed your fear and began to play.

When you began, you felt the nerves in your fingers. You could hear the notes, which sounded somewhat shaky. You took a deep breath and focused on the keys. The notes seemed to be fixed in an instant. The nerves started to disappear.

Once you finished, Roderich clapped for you. “Nice job, [Name]! Great for a first try.”

You smiled, then turned to Eridan for a secondary opinion. He smiled back. “Yeah, nice one.”  

You began grinning like a complete goofball. You were actually proud of yourself now that they had complimented you. “Thanks you guys... it means a lot.”
   
Suddenly, you began to cry.
