Nepeta walked to school in her usual happy go lucky mood. She was smiling sweetly and humming a light tune, as if she wasn’t wearing a ten pound book bag on her back and hadn’t woken up at six o’clock in the morning. Wow, she was certainly one to be optimistic. Of course, she wasn’t happy for no reason. In fact, she had a great reason to be as cheerful as she was.
Nepeta was going to announce her ‘undying love’ for you. And as over-exaggerated as it seems, it certainly didn’t seem likely that she would exaggerate something as serious as quadrants.
Three weeks ago, all her quadrants had been filled - except for the redrom. The only hatred that she could hold in her body went towards Gamzee. However, she had spent almost all her time shoving her nose in your business, she didn’t have any time to fight and then proceed to hatefuck the painted up clown. Gamzee decided they should be separated, and decided to take his kismesis quadrant elsewhere. She was supposed to be the auspistice between Karkat and John, but she was never there to stop the caliginous crush from turning into something more. They replaced her in a week or so. The only person who was nice enough to stay with Nepeta was Equius as her moirail and even he was hanging on by a thread.
Nepeta really had an undying love from you, and she wore it on her sleeve. She was all about you twenty-four seven, and everyone had just about had it.
Equius had actually suggested the idea to Nepeta the night before. He was fed up with her always obsessing over just the thought of you, so he decided to push her into confessing her flush crush. “I’m sure she will like you back,” He had said, “the two of you are similar to two peas in a pod.” To be honest, he wasn’t really sure if you would like her back, but he wanted Nepeta to be happy, and it was the only way to stop the madness that had been occurring.
Soon enough, Nepeta arrived at school, just in time for the doors to open for the students. She followed the long line of waiting kids inside. Knowing that she had first period with you, she rushed to put some things in her locker, hoping to converse with you before class started. On this day of all days, her locker, of course, was jammed. So, Nepeta just shoved her lunch box in her book bag, not wanting to waste precious time.
“Watch where you’re going!” A few kids shouted angrily at her as she shoved past idle people in the hallways.
After running through the school much faster than she should’ve, Nepeta arrived in class with barely three minutes to spare. She practically body slammed her poor book bag onto her desk and ran back to the desk where you sat.
“[Name]...” Nepeta choked out. She was certainly out of breath.
You shot her a smile and a friendly wave. “Hey, Nep… are you okay?”
She nodded. “Yeah, I-I’m fine…” Suddenly, her friends turned serious, “I have something I need to tell you.”
“I’m listening,” You said with a slight giggle, wondering exactly why she was looking so serious. She wasn’t one to be anything less than playful.
“We’ve been great furriends for awhile now, and I just wanted to say that… I-I really like you, and I wanted to ask you to be matesprits.” You gave her a confused look. “It’s like a human girlfurriend or boyfurriend.”
You opened your mouth to say something, but someone spoke before you. “Take a seat, Ms. Leijon. It’s time for class to begin.” Nepeta quickly sat down as everyone laid eyes on her.
The entire class, she paid almost zero attention. All she could think about was what you were about to say. Or where you going to say anything? Would the two of you engaged in a passionate kiss? Were you going to tell her off, and say that she had just ruined your friendship? Nepeta would not be sure until class had ended. It seemed like almost forever until the bell finally rang, signaling the time for class transitions.
Nepeta threw her book bag on her back and took off after you. You seemed to rush out of the classroom much faster than usual - and Nepeta would certainly be the one to know. She easily pushed through the crowd of people and quickly caught up with you.
“[Name], [Name]!” Nepeta called, running up beside you, “what were you going to say earlier? You know, about my feelings?”
You gulped, not exactly sure what to say without upsetting the girl troll. You didn’t have a lot of time, so you used the most obvious reason on the top of your head.
“I’m sorry Nepeta, but I don’t like girls like that.”
You picked up your feet and headed down the hallway, not wanting to look back at the girl who you had just left to bawl.

Throughout the course of the day, you constantly avoided Nepeta. You had about half of your classes with her, so it was kind of hard. You weren’t trying to be mean, but you didn’t want her to address you about it for the rest of the day. She also had no reason to think you weren’t straight - you always talked about boys you liked, and the odd part was, she always agreed with you on every single one.
You were so happy when school had ended. All you had to do was sneak out the front door and head on home without having to come in contact with Nepeta. It would be quick and painless. Before heading out, you grabbed a few things from your locker, then casually walked out the front door.
When you made it to the sidewalk and on the road to home, you felt as if you were finally at peace. You were happy that you didn’t have to speak to Nepeta again, because you didn’t want to have to explain yourself just yet. You did feel bad for leaving her in the hallway with nothing more than ‘I’m not gay.’ Hopefully you hadn’t hurt her too badly - you still wanted to be friends, of course.
“Wow, I’m a terrible friend…” You muttered to yourself as you walked alone.
You’re not alone.
You whipped around, swearing you heard a voice come from somewhere. Maybe it was just your mind playing tricks on you, but that didn’t matter. You didn’t feel too at peace anymore.
“You didn’t hear anything, it’s okay…” You whispered, taking a deep breath to calm yourself down.
Oh, now you’re ignoring me again?
You stopped dead in your tracks. Now, you knew you heard that one. And more importantly, did that voice get closer?
Turn around, best furrend.~
You gulped and slowly peeked over your shoulder to see Nepeta standing behind you, several feet down the sidewalk. You let out a sigh of relief. “Oh, hey Nep. Since when have you walked this way?”
“Since I needed to talk to you,” She said. Her voice seemed much darker than usual. It sounded as if it held a sinister background. “Why do you hate me so much?”
Nepeta stomped up to you and grabbed you buy the collar. “I said, why do you hate me?!” She was nearly choking you as the fabric of your [f/c] shirt began ripping.
“I-I don’t hate you!” You squealed in surprise. “Please let go…!”
She threw you by the collar into the nearby alleyway - it was as if your death was being planned out since the beginning of high school. You fell on your knees, hearing the sound of ripping flesh fill your ears. You wanted to cry out for help, but you weren’t sure if this moment was real or not. Nepeta had never been this violent. Had she really been this hurt over your uncaring response to her feelings?
“You rejected me just you don’t like girls!” Nepeta cried, towering over you in the darkness of the alleyway, “If you really cared about me, it wouldn’t matter if I was a girl!” She kneeled over you, flipping you over and sitting on your stomach.
“I-I’m sorry!” You whimpered, “I do care about you, but just as a friend.”
“No!” She shouted, “That’s not how it’s supposed to go! No, no, no!”
Nepeta began thrashing about, her claws ripping your shirt and beginning to rip through your innocent flesh. You cried out in pain as the cute went deeper and deeper into your skin. Soon enough, you were losing your grip on reality…
Nepeta sat at her desk, sketching out a simple picture. She wasn’t the best at drawing, but she loved to use it to express her feelings. She seemed to be drawing to people with a heart in the middle. It was obviously for her shipping wall.
She added a few more details and then kissed the heart for good luck. She then rushed out of the room to go show it to you.
“Oh, [Name]!” Nepeta said sweetly, “I drew the purrfect picture for the shipping wall of us!” She practically shoved it in her face. “Do you like it?”
You sat there in silence.
“Oh, come on. Look how pretty it is. It brings out the [e/c] in your eyes.”
You still said nothing.
Nepeta sighed. She tacked the picture up on the shipping wall, then turned her attention back to you. “I love you, [Name]. You know that, right?”
You sat there, with no expression, as if you weren’t listening to a word she said. Nepeta bent down and left a breath-taking kiss on your candy lips, hoping to just get a simple reaction out of you. Of course, nothing happened.
“Why don’t you ever kiss me back?” Nepeta asked. Then she giggled, answering her own question, “That’s right, you’re dead. I tend to furrget that sometimes, hehe.” She wrapped her arms around your waist, giving you a big bear hug.
“That’s okay, I know you love me in spirit,” She said with a smile, “and you know I’ll love you…”
Her voice turned into a hushed whisper.
